2028 Masters Tournament Dates and Schedule

The 2028 Masters Tournament will be the 92nd time this major championship is played. First staged in 1934, The Masters is one of the four majors of men's professional golf. The format is four rounds, 72 holes of stroke play.

2028 Masters dates: Thursday, April 6, through Sunday, April 9
Golf course: Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia (View the Augusta National scorecard and hole names)

Ticket Information

Each year Augusta National conducts a random drawing to award tickets for practice days, and also to award a very small number of tournament day tickets. You must register in advance to take part in the ticket lottery. See the Tickets section of Masters.com for information on how to do that.

Those not lucky enough to get tickets through the annual drawing will most likely have the secondary market — ticket brokers — as their only other option for getting tickets.

Players in the Field

Golfers receive invitations to play in The Masters based on meeting certain qualifying criteria. Those criteria range from being former Masters champions to a player's ranking in the official world golf rankings. See How Golfers Qualify to Play in The Masters for the ways in which a player can earn an invitation.

The groupings and tee times for golfers entered in The Masters are made by the Augusta National tournament committee. Those pairings are released the week of the tournament, typically on the Tuesday prior to Thursday's first round. See Masters Tee Times and Pairings for general info.
