Biggest Wins in Foursomes Matches at Solheim Cup
The Solheim Cup dates to 1990, and the first two 6-and-5 foursomes victories happened in that inaugural tournament. The Solheim Cup is played every two years between two squads of professional women golfers, one representing Europe, the other representing the United States.
The foursomes format is played in eight matches during the Solheim Cup, four times on Day 1 and four times on Day 2. The foursomes format refers to alternate shot: Two golfers play as partners, alternating playing the strokes (if Golfer A plays the first stroke, Golfer B plays the second, and so on).
Solheim Cup Foursomes: Largest Margins of Victory
- 6 and 5 — Cathy Gerring/Dottie Pepper, USA, def. Pamela Wright/Liselotte Neumann, Europe, 1990, Day 1
- 6 and 5 — Patty Sheehan/Rosie Jones, USA, def. Dale Reid/Helen Alfredsson, Europe, 1990, Day 1
- 6 and 5 — Becky Iverson/Rosie Jones, USA, def. Laura Davies/Alison Nicholas, Europe, 2000, Day 1

- 6 and 5 — Jessica Korda/Nelly Korda, USA, def. Carlota Ciganda/Bronte Law, Europe, 2019, Day 2
Also notice the 6-and-5 victory by the Korda sisters in the 2019 Solheim Cup. Jessica and Nelly Korda were the first pair of sisters to play for Team USA in the Solheim Cup, and just the second pair of sisters to play in the same Solheim Cup. And on Day 1 of that 2019 tournament, the Kordas recorded a 6-and-4 foursomes victory, just missing landing on the list above for a second time.
