2026 Presidents Cup

The 2026 Presidents Cup will be the 16th time this tournament is played. Played on an every-other-year basis, it was first contested in 1994. Today, it takes place in even-numbered years.

The Presidents Cup is a team, match-play tournament, between two squads: Team USA and Team International. (Team International is comprised of golfers from countries that do not participate in the Ryder Cup.)

Through the 2022 Presidents Cup, Team USA had won all but two of the tournaments. Team International was the victor in 1998, and the sides tied, and shared the Cup, at the 2003 Presidents Cup.

2026 Presidents Cup dates: TBA (the tournament is usually played in late September or early October)
Golf course: Medinah Country Club (No. 3 Course) in Medinah (Chicago area), Illinois
Defending champ: Team USA won the 2024 Presidents Cup by a score of 18.5 to 11.5

2026 Presidents Cup Golf Course: Medinah No. 3

The No. 3 Course at Medinah Country Club, in Chicagoland, has been the site of many marquee events in its history. That doesn't include a Presidents Cup (until 2026), but the 2012 Ryder Cup was played there. That's the one in which Team Europe staged a furious, final-day comeback to beat Team USA.

Medinah No. 3 was the host course for the U.S. Open in 1949 (won by Cary Middlecoff), 1975 (Lou Graham), and 1990 (Hale Irwin). It was the site of the PGA Championship in 1999 and 2006, both won by Tiger Woods. And Gary Player won the 1988 U.S. Senior Open at Medinah.

Medinah Country Club opened in 1924, with Tom Bendelow the original designer of all three of its courses. The No. 3 Course record is 61, set by Justin Thomas. The No. 3 Course is a par-72, 7,657-yard layout with a slope rating of 152 and course rating of 78.3.
