What Happened at the 2013 U.S. Women's Open

Inbee Park won the 2013 U.S. Women's Open by four strokes for her second title in this tournament, but also for her third consecutive major championship victory of 2013. Park had earlier won the Kraft Nabisco Championship and the LPGA Championship. No golfer had won the first three majors of an LPGA season since 1950, when Babe Didrikson Zaharias did it (there were only three majors played that season).

Mickey Wright (1961) and Pat Bradley (1986) also won three majors in one season, although theirs were not consecutive.

Park finished seven shots ahead of third-place finisher So Yeon Ryu. The only competitor who kept in close contact with Park over the final two rounds was the eventual runner-up, I.K. Kim. Kim trailed Park by two after 36 holes, but Park shot 71 to Kim's 73 in the third round to open a 4-stroke lead. And that was the final winning margin.

Park previously won the 2008 U.S. Women's Open (when she was only 19 years old), making this year's win her fourth in a major. It was her ninth career win on the LPGA Tour.

Brooke Henderson made her major-championship debut here, tying for 59th place. Nelly Korda also made her major-championship debut, tying for 64th.
