The Walker Cup is a biennial (every other year) competition for top amateur men golfers, one team representing Great Britain & Ireland, the other representing the United States. The 2023 Walker Cup was the 49th time the event was played. After Team USA's victory, the overall standings (the tournament dates to 1922) were 39 for the American side, nine wins for Team GB&I, with one tie.

Match Notes: Gordon Sargent, who entered the 2023 Walker Cup at No. 1 in the world amateur rankings, went a perfect 4-0-0 to lead Team USA to the win. But the American side had to stage a rally in the final singles session to pull off the victory.
It was the four consecutive win for Team USA again Great Britain & Ireland. Team GB&I took a 3-point lead at the end of Day 1. But in the morning foursomes on Day 1, the Americans won three points to close their deficit to just one. Team USA then won seven of the available 10 points in the final singles session, winning six matches outright and halving two others.
One of GB&I's players was 16-year-old Connor Graham. Graham set a Walker Cup record for youngest golfer.
