2024 British Open Winner and Final Scores

The 2024 British Open was the 152nd time this golf tournament was played. Xander Schauffele emerged as the champion, claiming his second major title of the year.

Winner: Xander Schauffele, 275

Where it was played: Royal Troon Golf Club in Troon, South Ayrshire, Scotland

Tournament dates: July 18-21, 2024

Leader after first round: Daniel Brown, 65

Leader after second round: Shane Lowry, 135

Leader after third round: Billy Horschel, 209

Notes: Xander Schauffele fired a final-round 65, the best score of the final round, to claim the 2024 Open Championship. Schauffele finished at 9-under 275, two strokes lower than the runners-up, Justin Rose and Billy Horschel. Schauffele had six birdies and zero bogeys in that final round. Four of those birdies were on the back nine, which Schauffele played in just 31 strokes.

It was Schauffele's second major championship victory of the year (and second of his career). He won the 2024 PGA Championship earlier in the year. Schauffele was just the sixth golfer all-time to win the PGA Championship and British Open in the same year.

In the third round, Si Woo Kim aced the 238-yard par-3 No. 17 hole, the first-ever ace on that hole at Royal Troon during an Open. It also was the longest hole-in-one in an Open to this point.
