2021 U.S. Open Winner, Scores

The 2021 U.S. Open was the 121st time this golf tournament was played. It produced the first Spanish winner in this tournament's history.

Winner: Jon Rahm, 278

Where it was played: Torrey Pines Golf Course (South Course) in San Diego, California

Tournament dates: June 17-20, 2021

Leaders after first round: Russey Henley and Louis Oostuizen, 67

Leader after second round: Russell Henley and Richard Bland, 137

Leader after third round: Russell Henley, Louis Oosthuizen and Mackenzie Hughes, 208

Notable notes: Jon Rahm became the first golfer from Spain to win the U.S. Open, posting a two-stroke victory over Louis Oosthuizen. Oosthuizen was the third-round co-leader, beginning the final round three strokes ahead of Rahm. And Oosthuizen appeared steady for most of the final round.

But then Rahm birdied the last hole to post a score of 6-under, one better than Oosthuizen, who was playing several groups behind Rahm. Oosthuizen then drove into a penalty area on the 17th hole and bogeyed to drop to 4-under. He birdied the last hole, but it wasn't enough. Oosthuizen shot 71 in the final round, Rahm 67.

Defending champ Bryson DeChambeau started the final round two strokes off the lead at 3-under. He got to 5-under and one stroke off the lead after nine holes. But from there, DeChambeau was 8-over on the back nine. He finished far down the standings at 3-over.
