Where it was played: Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina

Tournament dates: May 30-June 2, 2019

Leader after first round: Mamiko Higa, 65

Leader after second round: Mamiko Higa, 136

Leaders after third round: Celine Boutier and Yu Liu, 206

What Happened at the 2019 U.S. Women's Open

The golfer with the number in her name posted the number 278 to win by two strokes. Jeongeun Lee added the number "6" to her name, and started going by Jeongeun Lee6, because, when she joined the KLPGA in Korea in 2015, there were already five other golfers by that name on that tour.

After the 2019 U.S. Women's Open, you could also call her something else: major championship winner and U.S. Women's Open champ.

Lee began the final round two strokes off the lead, then carded a solid 70. The third-round leaders, Celine Boutier and Yu Liu, each shot 75 in the final round and finished tied for fifth place.

Lee got her score to 8-under after a birdie on the 15th hole, but finished with bogeys at 16 and 18. Her 6-under score was one ahead of Boutier as Boutier teed off No. 18, but the young French golfer made a double-bogey on the last.
