Notes: The final score was 9-3 for the Americans, but it was more closely contested than that score indicates: None of the Team USA players closed out the 36-hole matches before the 33rd hole.

The host course, Garden City (New York) Golf Club, was 6,417 yards in length — still the shortest course in Walker Cup history. (One has to assume that record is unbreakable, unless golf ball distance is rolled back some day.)

In its first three times being played, the Walker Cup was an annual tournament. After this, however, and owing to the financial strain of yearly travel, it switched to the every-other-year schedule familiar today.
