The 1990 Curtis Cup was the 26th time this tournament was played. Following Team USA's victory, the all-time standings were 20 wins for Team USA, four for GB&I, and two ties.

Notes: The Great Britain & Ireland side was still within striking distance after Day 1, trailing 6-3. But the United States team ran away with the match on Day 2, winning eight of the nine matches played, including a 6-0 sweep in singles.

This victory snapped a two-Cup losing streak for the Americans, and it was the USA's 20th overall Curtis Cup win.

One of the most interesting pairings during the competition was that of 52-year-old Anne Quast Sander and 17-year-old (future LPGA player) Vicki Goetze — the oldest and youngest players. They won both their foursomes matches.

Sander was one of four Americans who was unbeaten in the event, the others being (future LPGA winner) Brandie Burton, Robin Weiss and Katie Peterson.

This was the last of Sander's eight playing appearances, second-most in Team USA Curtis Cup history. She is also second on the all-time list in match wins (11) and points earned (12), trailing only Carol Semple Thompson in all three categories.
