The 1970 Curtis Cup was the 16th time this tournament was played. Following Team USA's victory, the all-time standings were 12 wins for Team USA, two for GB&I, and two ties.

Notes: Great Britain & Ireland won the first session of play, but the United States won the three following sessions — including the middle two by a 7-2 margin — to claim the victory.

There were some significant comings and goings in the 1970 Curtis Cup. This was the last of five playing appearances on Team USA for Phyllis Preuss. At the completion of play here, Preuss held the Cup's all-time record (since surpassed) for most match victories with 10.

This was Mary McKenna's first Curtis Cup as a player for GB&I. She played in nine Cups total, a record that still stands for Team GB&I, and played in every Cup from 1970 through the 1986 matches.

And this year marked the first of three appearances on Team USA for Jane Bastanchury, who later competed under her married name of Booth. The significance? Bastanchury's daugher, Kellee Booth, played for Team USA in the 1996 and 1998 matches. They thus became the first mother-and-daughter pair to both play in the Curtis Cup.
