Notes: This was the start of a 13-Cup win streak for the USA side that extended from the 1960 Curtis Cup through the 1984 match.

Judy Bell had the biggest win in the tournament, winning 8-and-7 in her singles match. Bell went on to become, in 1996, the first woman to serve as USGA President, and later was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame.

There were some significant arrivals and departures on the GB&I side. Belle McCorkindale made the first of her eventual seven appearances for GB&I. Philomena Garvey, Elizabeth Price and Frances Stephens Smith of GB&I all played in their sixth and final Curtis Cup.
