2019 U.S. Open Golf Tournament Winner and Scores

The 2019 U.S. Open was the 119th time the tournament was played. A first-time major winner held off the golfer who was trying for his third consecutive U.S. Open win.

Winner: Gary Woodland, 271

Where it was played: Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, Calif.

Tournament dates: June 13-16, 2019

Leader after first round: Justin Rose, 65

Leader after second round: Gary Woodland, 133

Leader after third round: Gary Woodland, 202

Notable notes: Gary Woodland fired a final-round 69 to beat two-time defending champion Brooks Koepka by one stroke. Koepka was attempting to become only the second player in tournament history to win three consecutive U.S. Opens, and the first golfer since the mid-1950s to win three in a row of any major. ... Woodland's winning score of 271 tied, at the time, for second-lowest in U.S. Open history, and his 13-under final score was third-best in tournament history. ... It was Woodland's first win in a major, only his fourth overall PGA Tour win. ... The low amateur was Viktor Hovland, whose 280 total broke a Jack Nicklaus record for lowest score in a U.S. Open by an amateur.
