Winners of the German Open Golf Tournament

The German Open is a former golf tournament on the European Tour. It was first played in 1911 and nearly survived into the 21st century, but there were about 20 years along the way in which the event didn't take place. ... Bernhard Langer won his home country's open five times, sharing the tournament record with Percy Alliss. ... Other multiple winners include (but are not limited to) Auguste Boyer (four wins), Henry Cotton, Flory von Donck, Mark McNulty and Seve Ballesteros.

Boyer was going for three consecutive wins, and win No. 5 overall, in 1937, but finished second to Cotton. Cotton's margin of victory, however, was 17 strokes — one of the largest winning margins in the history of top-level professional golf.
