Mickelson and Ernie Els battled over much of the back nine during the final round, Els shooting 67 to Mickelson's 69. Mickleson made five birdies over the final nine holes, including one to tie Els for the lead at No. 16. Then, at the last hole, Mickelson rolled in an 18-foot birdie putt to win the tournament.
