2013 Masters

The 2013 Masters was the 77th time the tournament was played. An Australian golfer won it for the first time.

Winner: Adam Scott, 279

Where it was played: Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Georgia

Tournament dates: April 11-14, 2013

Leader after first round: Sergio Garcia and Marc Leishman, 66

Leader after second round: Jason Day, 138

Leader after third round: Angel Cabrera and Brandt Snedeker, 209

Notable Notes: Adam Scott defeated Angel Cabrera (the 2009 winner) on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff, becoming the first Australian to win The Masters and also winning his first major championship. Both players forced the playoffs by making birdie on the 72nd hole. The Scott won it with a 12-foot putt on the second extra hole, after Cabrera had barely missed his own attempt.

Tiger Woods was a non-factor over the final two rounds after receiving a 2-stroke penalty for playing from the wrong place during the second round. And 14-year-old Chinese amateur Tianlang Guan became the youngest golfer to make the cut in a major.
